Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, who has represented Missouri’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress since 2005, posted a series of tweets on September 5, 2025, addressing local political issues and community pride.

In one post at 8:43 p.m., Cleaver shared a link for additional information: "More info here: https://t.co/VeJmMIe2y5".

An hour later, he commented on efforts to redraw the boundaries of his congressional district, writing at 9:43 p.m.: "MO-05 is the heart of Kansas City, our people, our culture, our economic engine. Trump and Missouri Republicans want to carve it up to cling to power, but they will not silence the voices of Kansas Citians without a fight."

Later that evening at 10:50 p.m., Cleaver celebrated Kansas City’s football spirit with a brief message: "Been holding this in too long. Happy Red Friday #ChiefsKingdom! https://t.co/EshUUFimv1"

Cleaver was born in Waxahachie, Texas in 1944 and has lived in Kansas City for many years. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Prairie View A&M University in 1972. Since succeeding Karen McCarthy in Congress two decades ago, Cleaver has been an active voice for his district and its constituents.
