Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, who represents Missouri’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on August 26, 2025, addressing topics ranging from personal celebrations to national policy issues.

In his first post at 18:11 UTC, Cleaver commented on an upcoming marriage and sports achievement: "Travis is about to get two rings in one year. Congratulations to the lucky couple. Happy to do the ceremony – just let me know."

Later that day at 19:05 UTC, Cleaver marked Women’s Equality Day with a message reflecting on ongoing efforts for gender equality: "Happy Women’s Equality Day! 105 years after the 19th Amendment was enshrined in the Constitution, we continue the fight to enforce equal pay for equal work, restore reproductive freedom, and ensure women have the opportunity to succeed in every area of life."

At 20:07 UTC, Cleaver criticized congressional Republicans’ economic policies: "Instead of working to lower costs for working class families, congressional Republicans fought to lower tax rates for their billionaire donors. While ripping healthcare away from 15 million Americans. And adding $4 trillion to the national debt."

Cleaver has represented Missouri's 5th District since 2005 after succeeding Karen McCarthy and currently resides in Kansas City. Born in Waxahachie, Texas in 1944, he is now 78 years old and holds a BS degree from Prairie View A&M University.
