The City of Independence has opened applications for its 2025 Citizens Academy. Residents interested in gaining insight into local government operations can apply until August 1, 2025.
The program offers a behind-the-scenes look at the city's functioning. Each week, different departments will demonstrate their roles in managing Missouri's fifth-largest city.
