In a tweet posted on March 27, 2025, Cleaver shared his excitement about the baseball #OpeningDay in Kansas City. He urged "As all of us in Kansas City get excited for #OpeningDay, I hope @Royals fans will take a moment to read this piece and reflect on how fortunate we are to have individuals like Bobby Witt Jr. and Patrick Mahomes representing our great city. Now, let’s go win another championship!"

On the same day, Cleaver voiced strong criticism regarding decisions by the Trump Administration in a subsequent tweet, accusing them of undermining public health measures. In his words, "In their rush to destroy anything related to pandemic public health—during outbreaks of measles and bird flu—the Trump Administration is also cutting critical research into treatments for cancer, HIV, mental health, and addiction. 'The cuts are deep.'”

In his final post of the day, Cleaver expressed concern about a potential freeze on federal funding for teacher training. He argued that such a move could exacerbate teacher shortages in Missouri. He stated, "While states like Missouri are already facing a teacher shortage in many school districts, President Trump is asking the Supreme Court to freeze federal funding dedicated to training the next generation of teachers. SCOTUS must stop this action before it harms students in #MO05.”
