Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Missouri’s 5th District since 2005, recently took to social media to discuss health care issues and an upcoming community event. Born in Waxahachie, Texas in 1944 and currently residing in Kansas City, Cleaver is a graduate of Prairie View A&M University.

On February 19, 2025, Rep. Cleaver highlighted the benefits provided by the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and investments from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), stating that "tens of millions of Americans are receiving high-quality, affordable health care." However, he warned that under the GOP's budget plan, "49,000 Missourians who receive ACA coverage in #MO05 would see their average premium go up" (source).

Later on February 19, Rep. Cleaver announced a Tele-Town Hall scheduled for February 20 at 6:30 PM CST to discuss "the Trump administration’s actions & how they’re impacting our communities." He emphasized the importance of community engagement by stating "Your voice matters & I look forward to hearing from you!" (source).

The following day on February 20, Rep. Cleaver reminded his constituents about the Tele-Town Hall meeting with a brief message urging them to "Tune in tonight at 6:30 CT!" (source).
