Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Missouri's 5th district, recently expressed his views on various political issues through a series of tweets. Known for his candid opinions, Cleaver addressed topics ranging from consumer protection to international relations.

On February 3, 2025, Rep. Cleaver commented on the dismissal of Rohit Chopra from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). He stated, "Rohit Chopra served the @CFPB and American consumers well, fighting against junk fees and other costly corporate schemes to protect the pocketbooks of hardworking families." He further criticized the President's decision by saying, "Considering POTUS is on the side of Big Corporations, he fired him for it."

Later that day, Cleaver addressed concerns about executive overreach in government operations. He tweeted at 19:51 UTC: "Even the President and the richest man in the world do not have the authority to unilaterally shut down a congressionally created agency." He urged bipartisan cooperation by stating, "It’s about time Republicans in Congress joined Democrats to put an end to this lawlessness!"

In another tweet posted at 20:48 UTC on February 3rd, Cleaver critiqued what he described as a strategic approach by former President Trump. He wrote: "Manufacturing a crisis, causing economic carnage, and then claiming credit for ending the crisis is the Trump playbook." Additionally, he advised current leadership to engage with allies constructively rather than antagonistically.
