Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri's 5th district since 2005, recently shared his perspectives on several national policy decisions via social media. His posts reflect concerns about funding for infrastructure projects, immigration policies, and federal budget cuts affecting social programs.

On January 24, 2025, Rep. Cleaver criticized President Trump's decision to block funding for infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, and clean energy efforts. He stated that this action threatens critical local projects and the good-paying jobs they create from moving forward. He affirmed his commitment to ensuring the delivery of this funding to Missouri's 5th district in his tweet: "President Trump’s decision to block funding for roads, bridges, and clean energy efforts is threatening critical local projects—and the good-paying jobs they create—from moving forward."

Later that day, Cleaver addressed immigration policies in another post. He expressed concern over families' safety amid ICE raids at schools and healthcare facilities. He argued that these actions do not address the root causes of illegal immigration but instead harm families and disrupt local economies: "Children and families should be able to go to school, seek healthcare, and worship their God without fear of an ICE raid."

In a subsequent tweet on the same day, Cleaver voiced opposition to proposed federal budget cuts aimed at reducing funds for healthcare and nutrition assistance programs while facilitating tax cuts for billionaires and large corporations. He characterized this approach as typical of Republican policies: "Cutting trillions of dollars from federal programs that provide healthcare and nutrition assistance to working class families in order to pay for massive tax cuts for billionaires and giant corporations."
