The Missouri State Foundation Board of Trustees recently approved the purchase of The Old Glass Place, 521 St. Louis, Springfield, MO.

The Old Glass Place serves as a wedding and event venue in downtown Springfield, and the foundation has rented the space for many galas and functions throughout the years.

“We are excited about our new adventure and ownership,” said Brent Dunn, executive director of the MSU Foundation.

The venue will be managed by 425 Downtown LLC. It will continue to be available to the public for banquets, parties, weddings, meetings and more.

“The Old Glass Place will also be a beautiful meeting space option for our university faculty, staff and student groups,” Dunn added.

This acquisition was made possible in part by a significant charitable gift from the venue’s previous owners, Al Miller and Roger Malarkey.

The foundation also owns and operates the Kenneth E. Meyer Alumni Center in downtown Springfield.

Ribbon cutting and open house

The foundation will host a ribbon cutting at 3 p.m. Feb. 23.

The public is invited to celebrate this new venture and participate in the open house from 3 -5 p.m.
