It has come to the attention of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office that citizens are being victimized by persons claiming to be members of the Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshal’s Service via a telephone scam.
Please be advised, the Sheriff’s Office DOES NOT participate in any telephone enforcement actions. Law Enforcement will not ask for you to pay fines or post bonds over the phone. Any such transactions will be in person at the police station or courthouse. We urge you to never give sensitive or personal information, funds, or anything of value to anyone calling claiming to be an employee or member of the Sheriff’s Office.
