Public Safety Citizen’s Advisory Board Hosts Community Forum

Join the Public Safety Citizen’s Advisory Board for a community forum featuring the Blue Springs Police Department Community Services Bureau. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25 in the Howard L. Brown Public Safety Building and will be streamed via Facebook Live on the City’s Facebook page.

Chief Bob Muenz and the Community Services Bureau will discuss the name change from Community Youth Outreach Unit (CYOU) to the Community Services Bureau as well as what services and duties will stay the same and what will change.

“Our CYOU has done a lot of awesome things with our youth and community, and we absolutely want to continue that momentum and continue to support programs that allow our officers and staff to create an environment where we can work together to help all our residents to feel safe with the Blue Springs Police Department,” Muenz said. “This reorganization allows us to refocus our staff and resources to better serve our community.”

The meeting will be streamed on the City’s Facebook page and will air live on CTV7 – Comcast Cable Channel 7 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99.  Residents can submit questions by emailing city@bluespringsgov.com, tweeting City’s Twitter handle @bluespringsgov, or commenting on the City’s Facebook Livestream at www.facebook.com/bluespringsgov.

A possible quorum of the City Council may attend the Public Safety Citizens’ Advisory Board Forum. The meeting is held in compliance with the State of Missouri’s Open Meeting Laws.
