Jackson Police Department - Corporal Sanchez and Officer Kurtz Were Recognized by the Jackson Tribe for an Exceptional Service to the Community

Today, Corporal Sanchez and Officer Kurtz were recognized by the Jackson Tribe for an exceptional service to the community during a dangerous incident at the Town House Inn on December 22, 2021. 

During this incident, Cpl. Sanchez and Officer Kurtz received a call of a person with a gun and shots fired at the Town House Inn within our jurisdiction. These two officers responded immediately and arrived on scene. They located the gunman and gave him loud and clear commands which the suspect complied. They were able to get the suspect into custody without further incident. They then immediately located two victims that were shot, one of which died of their injuries and the other was able to get medical attention which saved their life. 

These officer's actions and quick response saved further lives from being lost that morning from this senseless act of violence. 

Cpl. Sanchez and Officer Kurtz were both awarded the Sandlot Salute Award for Exceptional Service.
