5% of citizens unemployed in Jackson County in 2021

Jackson County recorded an unemployment rate of 5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 19,038 people out of the 713,229 living in Jackson County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Jackson County has increased compared to the 4.9% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Jackson County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 4.5%.

Of the 360,990 people who had a job during that time, 692 were employed in the Armed Forces and 360,298 belonged to the civilian labor force.
