Saturday, CO Adams Omonkhoa was working our visitation desk. He heard a visitor in the lobby approach the security checkpoint officer. She was struggling to communicate with limited English. Officer Omonkhoa recognized her accent as being from the region of Uzbekistan. He asked her if she speaks Russian, one of his 7 languages. She did. He was able to not only communicate with her but he translated her sons name for her from the Russian alphabet to English so she would know how to put his name into the kiosk to schedule visitations and other concerns. She was very relieved to have the help she did not expect to find here, in a Detention Center in the Midwest. This is just one more example of the myriad of talents and abilities of JCDC personnel and I’m proud of this officer and his efforts at true public service.
