Representative Emanuel Cleaver has taken to social media to express his views on several pressing issues facing the nation. Cleaver, who has served Missouri’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress since 2005, offered his thoughts on public health, democratic systems, and economic development in a series of tweets on March 27, 2025.

In a post made at 5:55 PM, Cleaver commented on the state of the American public health system. "Gutting America’s public health system does nothing to make our nation safer or healthier. In fact, it does the exact opposite. It ensures that fewer cures are found, less treatment is available, and more Americans will die unnecessarily."

Later, at 7:05 PM, Cleaver addressed political developments, criticizing the current administration's actions. He stated, “The president is following a playbook from other countries whose leaders have sought to undermine democratic systems and the rule of law, including Russia, Turkey and Hungary. Trump is implementing the authoritarian playbook here at home. We all must continue to push back."

In a post at 8:47 PM, Cleaver highlighted his participation in a conference dedicated to economic development. "I was proud to join @NCRC for their 'Just Economy Conference' to talk about the invaluable impact of Community Development Financial Institutions and their work to support economic and housing development nationwide. Together, we’ll keep fighting to deliver opportunities for all."
