In June 1972, Congress passed Title IX, prohibiting sex-based discrimination in any federal government-funded school or other educational programs. The 50 Years of Title IX exhibition features a number of original materials from Washington University’s Special Collections that highlight important events in the University’s implementation of Title IX and the ever-evolving journey towards gender-based equality.
This exhibition was organized by subject Librarian AJ Robinson and Sarah Winkler of the Gender Equity and Title IX Compliance Office for Washington University Libraries.
