Cleaver continued his critique of the administration’s handling of labor issues in another tweet at 18:09 UTC: "This administration inherited the strongest labor market in a generation—and in 10 short months they have pushed layoffs to their highest level since the pandemic and just before the Great Recession.

Emanuel Cleaver, born in Waxahachie, Texas in 1944 and currently residing in Kansas City, has built a lengthy career in public service. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Prairie View A&M University in 1972. Since replacing Karen McCarthy as representative for Missouri's 5th district two decades ago, Cleaver has been an active participant in national policy debates.
