Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 5th district since 2005, used his social media platform on November 4, 2025, to address concerns about federal policy and encourage civic participation.

In a post published at 14:03 UTC, Cleaver criticized the president's actions regarding economic and social policies: "The president said he would drain the swamp and focus on the well-being of working-class Americans. Instead, he’s ripping health care and food assistance away from hardworking families while giving massive tax cuts to the wealthiest people in the world."

Later that day at 15:34 UTC, Cleaver reminded constituents of election day and provided resources for voter participation: "Today is election day! Please take the time to make your voice heard. Check your registration and find your polling location here:"

At 16:37 UTC, Cleaver commented on recent legislative developments impacting health care access for working-class families in Missouri: "Republicans have shut down the government to prevent an extension of ACA tax credits that help working-class families afford their health care. Missouri families are seeing higher health care costs because of it."

Cleaver has represented Missouri’s 5th district since replacing Karen McCarthy in Congress in 2005. He was born in Waxahachie, Texas in 1944 and currently resides in Kansas City. Cleaver earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Prairie View A&M University in 1972.
