Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, who represents Missouri’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform on October 16, 2025, to address issues ranging from voting rights to public health policy.

In a post published at 16:30 UTC, Cleaver stated, “This is nothing but an attempt to intimidate and deny people the right to petition their government”. He continued in the same tweet, "Republicans are terrified of voters, which is why they’re working overtime to prevent citizens from making their voices heard. But the power of the people is much stronger than https://t.co/koEeMCj1nF".

Later that day at 17:26 UTC, Cleaver highlighted the longstanding practice of water fluoridation for dental health benefits. He wrote, "For 80 years, the addition of fluoride to community water supply has helped reduce tooth decay & improve dental health, especially for those who can't afford to regularly see the dentist. My Protect Our TEETH Act would ensure any attempts to change these policies are backed by".

In another tweet posted at 17:26 UTC, Cleaver explained his legislative initiative further: "When making policy decisions that impact the health and safety of American families, it’s important that Congress and the administration use science-backed data from independent experts. That’s why I introduced the Protect Our TEETH Act.
