Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Missouri’s 5th district, recently took to social media to express his concerns and stance on several pressing issues. On February 10, 2025, Cleaver shared his thoughts on financial commitments and consumer protection through a series of tweets.

In one tweet posted on February 10, 2025, at 20:07 UTC, Cleaver highlighted concerns regarding the nation's financial commitments. He stated, “We were fortunate that during our tenures in office no effort was made to unlawfully undermine the nation’s financial commitments. Regrettably, recent reporting gives substantial cause for concern that such efforts are underway today.”

Later that day at 22:49 UTC, Rep. Cleaver voiced support for consumer protection alongside fellow Democrats. He tweeted, “I’m proud to stand with @RepMaxineWaters, @HouseDemocrats, and so many others to tell Elon Musk: #HandsOffTheCFPB! The @CFPB fights for working families—protecting consumers from corporate greed and we won’t let Elon Musk and the Trump Administration dismantle it.”

In a subsequent tweet at 22:50 UTC on the same day, he reiterated his commitment to protecting consumer rights against wealthy influences. Cleaver wrote, “Corporate billionaires and Elon Musk think they can buy our democracy – but we’re here to say: keep your musty hands off the CFPB! @HouseDemocrats stand united to protect everyday Americans, not to serve the whims of the ultra-wealthy.”
