Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Missouri's 5th district, shared a series of tweets on December 13, 2024, addressing public health and safety issues. His statements reflect his concerns about vaccine misinformation and the preparations needed for upcoming international events hosted by the United States.

In a tweet posted on December 13, 2024, Rep. Cleaver criticized suggestions from RFK’s team to revoke the Polio vaccine in the United States. He stated: "In the name of 'Making America Healthy Again,' RFK’s team is suggesting that the U.S. should revoke the Polio vaccine—which has protected millions of kids from death and paralysis for decades. This isn’t just wrong, it’s incredibly dangerous."

Later that day, Rep. Cleaver highlighted his involvement with a bipartisan group of lawmakers advocating for public safety investments across the country. He tweeted: "To help ensure the safety and security needs of spectators, teams, small businesses, and communities across the country, I’ve also joined a bipartisan group of lawmakers calling on Congress to provide investments in public safety."

Additionally, Rep. Cleaver emphasized the importance of adequate preparation for hosting international events like the 2026 World Cup in another tweet: "The 2026 World Cup is an opportunity to showcase America on the world stage—but there’s a lot of work to ensure a successful competition. That’s why I’m calling on Congress to provide investments that will support security, transportation, & infrastructure needs for host cities."
